WishCasting: Three Wishes for My New Friends

I am not great at having house guests. I am not great at having my routine interrupted. I am an introvert who likes things...a certain way.

I am not great at meeting new people. Though I am quite sociable, I feel shy and intimidated at first meetings.

So to have a first meeting be when someone new is coming to stay at our house for a few can see how hard this was for me.

And yet, because it was Lisa, it turned out to be quite easy. What a delight it was to meet her in person, to spend time with her, to create a bond beyond the virtual one that we already had.

That is her in that top photo taking photos atop out environmental center's tower. The horizon would be where Canada lies.

Lisa and I also were lucky enough to meet up with another blogger in New York state for lunch and a wacky excursion to a candy and statue shop that was a bit, well, wacky. Here is Dolly. She is even scarier in person!

And here is the other mysterious blogger, Graciel of Evenstar Art.

Again, I wasn't sure I wanted to do this, but Graciel was more than I had even anticipated. It's nice to say, I like her very much. In real life!

Graciel is camera shy like me and I think this shot would be approved of. She looks totally "together" and that bag rocks.

The candy shop was filled with candies from our youth, and I will be posting many, many more shots like this one.

Today is Wishcasting Wednesday and Jamie asks, What do you wish to tell the world?

This is all connected. Trust me.

These two new friends are at crossroads in both their lives. It's decision time. It's change time.

So I would like to make three wishes for them and these three wishes are also for all of us:

Be Brave.

Take Risks.

Choose Bliss.

Great that you had a chance to meet bloggers that you adore and I have to say I understand how you feel and am really impressed that you pushed out of your comfort zone to do it. The payoff? Looks pretty fun to me!

I'll try to remember your example!!

As you wish for yourself, so I lovingly and with intention, wish for you also!

I think you always impress me so because you always talk about things I'm feeling - UGH! The "social introvert!" I can so relate! And yet your bravery ...astounding. as Blisschick wishes for herself and her new friends, so too do I wish for Blisschick and her friends, may transitions be bold and acquiring a new friend without fear.

What a great time!
I could relate to your loner/ what am I doing?? feeling!
~ 15 years ago I lived in community, over the next 4 years lived alone at times, & shared housing at others. I truely enjoyed having housemates (I'd been married & had grown kids, so had 'done that') & stretching some of my ideas about myself!
A fav. memory - my first housemate was eating her breakfast using *my* favorite bowl! I said something (trying to be appopriate, but set my *boundaries*) & she asked me to show her the things she 'shouldn't use,' & commented that in her tradition (native american based) she would be HONORED if I ate out of her special bowl . . . . hang head, rethink . . .
Again I live alone, & try to have plenty of 'special' cups & bowls to offer my guests :)

Precious - the wishes and the 'met in real life' experience.

I'm particularly touched by Dia's comment and how the woman she spoke of would be HONORED to share her special and yet was so respectful to ask Dia's preference regarding 'hers'...reminds me how much we have to learn from others if we are just open to.

Oh my.

This brought a lump in my throat and tears to my eyes.

Thank you, dear one, for your continued bliss-infused insight and wisdom.

My visit was a life-changing experience on many levels. One which will take a lot of unraveling, contemplating, and rebuilding to move forward into the beckoning bliss ~ with much bravery required, indeed.

Dear New Friend and Kindred Soul,

You honor me greatly. It surely was the best afternoon with you and Lisa. Your intelligence and wit and keen understanding was a balm to my soul. I do hope you'll come out of your shell again and come see the churches of Buffalo with me.

I will be brave. I will take risks. I will choose bliss. I wish the very same for you as well.

I thank you with my whole heart. xo

I love those 3 wishes....

Sounds like you had a wonderful time with your friends/bloggers.

Looking forward to seeing the pictures from the sweet store...

Fabulous! This reminds me of an old song by Ann Reed called "I Hope You" - it's about barely knowing someone, yet hoping all the good in the world finds its way to them. Check it out on iTunes. :)

It is ironic that you write about inviting complete 'blogger' strangers into your home while Connie from Dirty Footprints is trying to organize a cross-country trip picking up bloggers on their way to BlogHer.

While one would never imagine that meeting someone online could materialize into a friendship, indeed that is exactly what is happening. We are connecting with like-minded people who totally ROCK!
