That Donation Button to the Left

I have been writing Blisschick for over two years now and have never added advertisements to this site besides the occasional Amazon widget displaying books and DVDs that I love.  I have never made money off of those.

To write every single week day (and for much of that time, even on the weekends) takes time and commitment.  I am happy to give both, because I think this work is important and I love the relationships I have developed because of it.

But my time and energy and words and experiences are also worth something, I think, so I have added a very casual donation button, which you are free to ignore.

I so agree with you, dear!! I have had a donation button on my site for a long time and HAVE received a few rupees over the years.

you have inspired me now to write a post like this!!

yoga is about cultivating an attitude of gratitude, and there is a concept in Buddhism called DANA.

Christine, I have been debating the whole adverts or not, donation button or not, question for a while. Thank you for this post (and thank you Linda for your words too) which makes me think about it more deeply.

I spend a lot of time and love on the blog. I just want to find that balance between nothing and that scene in Wayne's World where he does the blatant advertising skit (which is all I can think of when I think about blog adverts!).

Heh! I think I might do the same, given my upcoming impending unemployment situation... who knows how things will play out, but certainly it's not a bad idea at all.

that's what we ALL could do to make money! Spam other bloggers with ads for cheap watches! WHAT A CONCEPT!

Ahh, yes, Linda...thanks for the laugh. I will delete those now. :)

Very clever thinking outside the box.

i avoid PayPal. Could I get you something off of an amazon wish list?

Brava! Good move, Christine, and as soon as I get my PayPal account topped back up (I think I have the grand total of $1.34 in it at the moment after a Bit of a Splurge on a new laptop!), I shall return & donate with pleasure. I get SO much from this blog -- you & Marcy both, actually, but I seem to comment here more often for some reason. Gotta keep those four-foots in kibbles & carrots!

Beth! Don't give it another thought! No paypal is fine. Like I said, the donation thing can be totally ignored.

Maybe someday I will finally get to offering an ebook or something and THEN you can share some love! :) (IF it speaks to you, of course...God, this should not be so awkward...)
